The Crystal Lake Fire Department's Chief Moore and his officers made a generous donation to Community Harvest again this year. Instead of exchanging gifts for the holiday season, several years ago Chief Moore and his officers decided to donate funds to Community Harvest which in turn supports the community the department serves. Cate Williams of the Crystal Lake Food Pantry explained with over 700 clients a month visiting the pantry, the need is greater than ever to help feed those families.

The Community Harvest Committee members were delighted to have the support of the Fire Department once again this year!

Crystal Lake Library Donates $6500.00!!!

Pictured above from left to right: Sarah Schrempf of the CL Jaycees, Judy Pelinski Community Harvest Chair and Catherine M. Williams President of the Crystal Lake Food Pantry receive a "big" check for the Crystal Lake Food Pantry from Kathryn I. Martens Crystal Lake Public Library Director, Marilyn Crowley Library Assistant Kirsten Barry Library Technical Assistant and John Engebretson CLPL Board President.

The Crystal Lake Library ran their fine forgiveness program from November 1st through November 15th with a grand total donation to Community Harvest in the amount of $6500.00! The program allow residents the opportunity to pay cash or write a check to the food pantry for at least half of their fines, with the library waiving the remaining fines.

The donation far exceeded anyone's imagination and the Community Harvest Committee was astonished when presented with the check. The Library's generous donation is a shining example of the warmth and generosity that organizations in the Crystal Lake community share with others.

Community Harvest is delighted to have the on-going support of the Crystal Lake Library.
